Try to collect as many 'sets' as possible. A set consists of three cards whose different characteristics are either all the same or all different. The characteristics that can distinguish them are quantity, color, shape, and shading.
On the table, there are 12 cards arranged in a 4 by 3 matrix. The players try to find a set simultaneously (3 cards whose different characteristics are all the same or all different). When a player has found a set, they say 'set'. The other players check the set. If it is indeed a set, the player may keep the set and 3 new cards are laid out. The player with the most sets is the winner of the game.
